Introduction to THC Oil
As Cannabis becomes legal in more places around the world, the way it is introduced into an individual’s system has become more diverse than ever before. Extracting the two crucial chemicals found in Cannabis CBD and THC-and creating oil out of the two is a method that is becoming more and more popular. Particularly, THC oil is something that is catching many peoples interests as it is creating opportunities to manipulate the THC chemical more than if we were dealing with the actual physical plant. If you are wishing to learn more about the THC chemical, and more specifically THC oil, then continue reading below.
History of THC
Traditionally, the source of THC has always been from the Cannabis plant. THC, or Tetrahydrocannabinol, is the chemical in Cannabis that affects the mind, creating the euphoric high that most people think of when they think of Cannabis. THC is more prominent in the Sativa Cannabis plant than the Indica plant.
Humans have used the THC chemical for thousands of years, and every culture that has done so has manipulated the experience that the chemical offers in many ways. For example, The Ebers Papyrus is one of the first medical textbooks to be written, with many sources indicating that it was written at around 1550 BC by the Ancient Egyptians. This textbook contained many formulas that used Cannabis to help the Ancient Egyptians mentally and physically. There is also a high amount of evidence that suggests that many Asian nations used Cannabis seeds and plants for cooking and building, with some evidence dating back to 8,000 BC!
There are many different civilizations that have shown that they have also used Cannabis, and THC also, however, none of these civilizations showed that they were able to manipulate the plant to the point that we are able to do so in our day and age. We have gotten to the point where we are able to manipulate the percentage of THC and CBD within a Cannabis strain, but we are also able to extract the chemicals entirely and then insert them into things such as food and, more importantly, oil.
What is THC Oil
Basically, THC oil is just oil that has a percentage of the THC chemical oil inside of it. This THC oil is generally put into either a Vape pen or a Cartridge where it is then vaporized. Many people prefer this method of getting THC into their system over the traditional method of smoking, and even over edibles as it is much easier to manipulate the percentage of THC in oil, and it is much more convenient to carry around a vape pen that has THC oil than carrying around grams of Cannabis with you or Cannabis infused food.
Possibly the most important thing about THC oil is that an individual can manipulate the amount of THC they want in the oil. Traditionally, it has been unlikely that the THC percentage in a Cannabis strain is larger than 15%, even currently it would be hard to find Cannabis that has over 25% THC in it. With THC oil, it is possible to make the percentage of THC either much less than the average or much higher.
Most THC oils will have a THC content of around 40%-50%, however, there are also oils that have close to 90% THC in them, and also THC oil that has close to 5%-10%, or even 0%, however, these oils are normally dominated by CBD instead of THC, which will offer a completely different experience than what an oil that is dominated by THC would.
How does THC Oil Affect Me?
THC oil can affect people in many ways. It is important to note that everyone reacts to the THC chemical in different ways, so although your friend vapes THC oil that has 50% THC content and finds this to be the optimal percentage for them, it is not certain that this will be the optimal THC content for you, especially if you are not someone who has had many experiences with the chemical before.
An individual can expect to feel more energetic, creative and happier after using THC oil, as these are some of the most common effects that THC can have on humans. You will feel different levels of these emotions depending on the strain that the THC was extracted from, and also on how much THC content is in the oil.
Remember to start with a low THC content, and not consistently vape it after small amounts of time pass. This is because the THC chemical slowly becomes more and more intense, it doesn’t all hit an individual at once, so although someone may not feel the effects too heavily within 5-10 minutes, they may foolishly have more from their vape pen which will hit them while the effects of the first dosage start to intensify more which could be very overwhelming for some, and could even make the experience bad.
Too much THC in an individual’s system can cause anxiety to strengthen and make someone unable to act normal in public, so although it may be tempting smoke quick and hard, it is better to take your time so that the THC can be used more like something that strengthens an individual, not something that alters them to the point that they can barely function. Be smart with dosage and it will be all good.
Cost of THC oil
As THC and Cannabis becomes legal in more places, and the demand continues to rise it is likely that the cost of THC oil will start to neutralize and become more consistent around the world, however, because Cannabis is still being introduced into society and still widely controversial, especially among older people, the prices of THC oil can still widely vary.
An individual can expect to pay anywhere from $15-$60 USD per ml depending on the THC content in the oil, although there are some oils that will be closer to $100 USD per ml as these are the oils that have the THC content that is closer to 90%.
THC oil can easily be found at a local dispensary or online if you live in an area where Cannabis is legal.
THC oil or Traditional Methods?
As the world continues to learn about Cannabis and the two key chemicals that are found in it-CBD and THC-there is no doubt that the argument over which method of introducing it into your system will become more intense. Personally, I believe that there is not one way that is best to enjoy Cannabis, it is different for every single person. THC oil will definitely be one of the more popular methods, however, as it offers more control over the intensity of a high, is convenient as it vape pens are small and easy to carry around, which means that it won’t ever be something that draws people’s attention unless an individual is taking large dosages at once, and simply because it is so simple to use, literally just suck on the vape pen a little bit and there you go!
As well as THC oil, there is also CBD oil, which is the other crucial chemical that is in Cannabis. CBD oil offers less to no euphoric high, however, it is known as a chemical that helps individuals with mental and physical issues such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia and epilepsy to name a few. As there are many different ways to enjoy Cannabis, It will be interesting to see where the world takes THC, CBD and Cannabis.
